Cooper County man hit with multiple charges including domestic assault and kidnapping

Robert Warren Roberts of Cooper County was arrested Tuesday by deputies of the Cooper County Sheriff's Office with charges of first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, first degree domestic assault, first degree kidnapping, first degree armed criminal action, first degree possession of controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to a press release, initially Lieutenant Chris J. Class responded to a medical call at the Brady campgrounds near the Highway 179 exit of I-70. Medics were dispatched to the campground for a report of a 47 year old female that was injured from a fall.

When Class arrived, he soon realized there was more to the story. As he continued to investigate the incident he requested assistance from several of the other deputies. Before the day was over the investigation produced a search warrant for the camper at the location.

As a result of the search warrant, narcotics, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and ammunition was seized.
