Jim and Sheri Parker were the type of people that were always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need no matter who they were, as written on a fundraising page dedicated to them.

The couple was found dead from gunshot wounds in their home Wednesday, Nov. 8. They lived and managed Riverview RV Park in Lake of the Ozarks.

"Dad and Sheri were huge in this community in the short time they were here," William Parker, Jim's son said. "Even when we were growing up, it was always helping everybody else."

Friends and family gathered for a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. Saturday to grieve the loss of the Parkers and to honor their lives. Hundreds arrived to pay their respects, including a caravan of Lake Ozark police.

"I know the system will work the way it's supposed to," William said about the case.

For now, he wants to do what his father would have done.

"Focus on family and focus on community."

Jim and Sheri were survived by seven children and 22 grandchildren.

Those who would like to assist the family can contribute to the YouCaring fundraiser page to help alleviate funeral and travel costs.
