The Missouri House committee investigating criminal allegations against Governor Eric Greitens canceled its next meeting.

Committee chairman Jay Barnes, R-Jefferson City, had previously scheduled Friday's meeting to begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Jefferson City Police Department.

The committee has held four closed hearings at the police department since its 40-day investigation began.

A grand jury in St. Louis indicted Greitens on a felony invasion of privacy charge in February.

He was accused of taking a compromising photograph of a woman with whom he was having an affair without her permission in 2015. Greitens has denied any criminal wrongdoing.

The next committee hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 at 12 p.m., according to the House calendar.
