One injured in Columbia shooting

At 8:04 p.m. officers were dispatched to shots heard in the 200 block of Business Loop E.

Officers arrived on scene and found several shell casings in the area of Austin and Grand Avenue and one car damaged by gunfire.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. Columbia police were dispatched to the 700 block of North Sixth Street and confirmed that there was one gunshot wound victim. The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The man has yet to be identified.

Police have confirmed that the victim and the shots fired are related incidents.

Police are still investigating the scene at Austin and Grand Avenue.
