Columbia Fire Department responds to garage fire

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Columbia Fire Department responded to a garage fire early Saturday evening. The fire happened in the 800 block of Eighth Street around 6:15 p.m.

Firefighters say there were cooking supplies in the garage.

The department dispatched extra equipment and personnel to the scene because they thought the fire was possibly suspicious.

No one was hurt during the fire.
