City determines price tag for potential state audit
City staff on Monday said a proposed state audit likely would cost city taxpayers less than $1 million.
The report from the city manager's office comes more than a month after the city council approved a resolution expressing support for asking State Auditor Nicole Galloway's office to review the city's finances. The report shows the audit would cost the city between $500,000 and $750,000 over the course of 2-3 years. Staff said that figure could go up depending on what state auditors find in their initial surveys.
The council has not yet formally asked Galloway's office to perform the audit.
