Child injured in Columbia armed home invasion robbery

Police said a one-year-old suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning after three suspects broke into a home.

Officers stated a 24-year-old woman and the child were inside a residence in the 2800 block of Mexico Gravel Road around midnight when she heard a knock at the door. The woman answered the door and three male suspects forced their way into the residence, one of them being armed. Two suspects searched the residence, and one of the suspects struck the child.

A release stated the one-year-old received minor injuries.

The suspects took some property from the woman before running off, and there was additional reported injury or property damage.
