BCSD: One person believed to have been shot north of Columbia

COLUMBIA — Deputies are investigating after a person is believed to have been shot near the intersection of Mauller Road and Moberly Drive in Boone County on Monday afternoon.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department received a report at around 2:23 p.m. on Monday saying a man had been shot.

Deputies responded to the area of Mauller Road and Moberly drive where they found the man who "is believed to have been shot."

Meanwhile, Boone County Joint Communication alerted the public of a "law enforcement situation" in the area at 2:36 p.m. and said to choose an alternate route.

Boone County Sheriff's Department Spokesman Sgt. Brian Leer said the incident is currently under investigation.
