Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day. Boone County Clerk Brianna Lennon held an open house to educate people about the voting process. Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft made an appearance at the event in the Boone County Government Center Plaza. Lennon said her open house helped voters feel more secure about their election experience.

Lennon said, “Make sure that you are registered to vote. If you are already registered, update your registration. You can go on our website or the secretary of state’s website and get that taken care of.”

Voters had the chance to register to vote, to get more familiar with voting equipment, and learn about the procedures in place to make sure elections have integrity and accuracy.

Ashcroft said, “I’m just so thankful that we have election authorities across the state like Brianna Lennon that go the extra mile to make sure that people can easily participate in the great republic that we have.”

Ashcroft said it was important for voters to keep their current address up to date at their county clerk’s office. Changing your address at the post office does not change your address on your voter registration records.
