Two subjects were arrested Thursday after methamphetamine, scales, and pills were found by officers.

Deputies of the Moniteau Sheriff's Office assisted the California Police Department on a complaint at the Eagle Stop Store in California.

Upon arrival, one deputy spoke to the occupants of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Jonathan McCarty of California and 20-year-old Tamara Deroo of Versailles.

According to a press release, the deputy asked for consent to search the vehicle and was denied access by the occupants.

K-9 Apollo was then called to the scene. Upon deployment, K-9 Apollo gave a positive alert for drugs in the vehicle.

McCarty and Deroo were taken into custody and transported to Moniteau County Jail.

Both McCarty and Deroo were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Their bond is set for $25,000.
