Two Tigers taken on second day of MLB Draft
COLUMBIA -- Missouri pitchers Michael Plassmeyer and Bryce Montes De Oca were both selected on the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft.
Plassmeyer went in the 4th round (No. 118 overall) to the Seattle Mariners. Plassmeyer struck out 103 batters in 91 1/3 innings this season. He posted a 5-4 record with 3.05 ERA.
Montes De Oca went to the New York Mets in the 9th round (No. 260 overall). This is the third time he's been selected in the MLB Draft. The White Sox took him in the 14th round in 2014. Last year the Nationals used a 15th round pick on him.
Montes De Oca threw 54 2/3 innings for the Tigers in 2018, posting a 3.18 ERA while striking out 65 batters.
