Missouri finished 33rd in this year's Learfield Directors' Cup standings.

Missouri athletics set a new school record by finishing 33rd in the final Learfield Directors' Cup standings for the 2016-2017 school year.

Six MU teams posted top-16 finishes this season. Tiger wrestling led the way by finishing 5th in the nation. Women’s indoor track & field (8th), men’s swimming & diving (9th), women’s swimming & diving (13th), women’s cross country (16th) and volleyball (Sweet 16) also ended their seasons in the top 16.

“Mizzou Athletics has enjoyed an outstanding all-around year, academically and athletically, capped off by its highest finish ever in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings,” Missouri Director of Athletics Jim Sterk said. “This year’s success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaches, student-athletes and staff, and I’m confident that even greater things are in store for our program in future years.”

Two Missouri teams (volleyball and wrestling) won conference championships. Senior J'Den Cox (wrestling, 197 lbs.) and junior Karissa Schweizer (cross country, indoor 5,000 meters and outdoor 5,000 meters) combined to win four individual national championships.
