Lincoln women win fourth straight MIAA outdoor title

For the fourth year in a row, the Lincoln women took home the title at the MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Competing on their home track for the first time since 1999, the Blue Tigers finished the meet with 182 points, beating runner-up Central Missouri by 77.5 points.

The Lincoln women won eight events over the weekend. Yanique Ellington swept the 100m and 200m. Donna-Lee Hylton won the 400m dash, while Monique Thompson set a new meet record in winning the 800m. The Blue Tigers also swept the hurdle races and the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

The Lincoln men earned a fourth place team finish. Jermaine Blake set a new meet record in the 800m run, then helped the 4x400m relay team record a new MIAA record.

Lincoln's Romel Lewis won the 100m dash and the 400m hurdles, and helped LU win the 4x100m relay.
