Missouri fans wanting to see their Tigers open the 2017 season will have to get up a little earlier this year.

Mizzou Athletics announced Tuesday morning that its opening matchup against Missouri State has been scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. on Sept. 2. The Bears are coached by former Missouri defensive coordinator Dave Steckel.

The Tigers will also host the Purdue Boilermakers Sept. 16, with the start time scheduled for 6 p.m. Both games against the Bears and Boilermakers will be televised on the SEC Network.

The second game of the season for coach Barry Odom's squad had previously been set for Sept. 9 with a 6 p.m. kickoff, and will be televised on ESPN2. The only other remaining game that had been scheduled in a specific time slot is the final regular season game. Missouri travels to Arkansas and will take on the Razorbacks Nov. 24. CBS will air the Battle Line Rivalry, which kicks off at 1:30 p.m.
