Missouri's Frank Haith is on his way to Tulsa, possibly for good.
Haith boarded a plane bound for Tulsa at Columbia Regional Airport this afternoon. He did answer questions from reporters. CBS Sports is reporting Tulsa will name Haith the school's next head basketball coach.
A Mizzou spokesperson confirmed to KRCG that Tulsa was granted permission Thursday afternoon to talk to Haith about the school's head coaching job. KRCG also confirmed that Haith held a team meeting Thursday afternoon. He did not tell his players that he was leaving to become Tulsa's next head coach.
"Frank is looking for a way out of Missouri," a source told Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com. "This might be it."
Tulsa CBS affiliate NewsOne6.com reports
Sources confirmed Haith is the preferred candidate of Tulsa athletic director Derrick Gragg, who was the director of compliance and operations at Missouri from 1995-1997.
ESPN.comâ??s Jeff Goodman reported Haith verbally agreed to become the next head coach barring a last-minute collapse in talks.
