Dozens of volunteers prepared food for this yearâ??s Almeta Craytonâ??s Everybody Eats Thanksgiving Day meal.
Crayton passed away last month leaving others to carry on her legacy in the Columbia community.
Cooks prepared more than 40 turkeys and plenty of side dishes for tomorrowâ??s meal for the less fortunate.
Bill Sullivan has been the head chef for all 13 years of the event.
Sullivan said it was a sad day to work in the kitchen without Almeta Craytonâ??s guidance.
Sullivan said, â??I miss her a whole bunch. Iâ??m sure she is up at the feast table in heaven cooking up for the Lord.â??
The Almeta Crayton Everybody Eats Thanksgiving Day dinner takes place tomorrow at Stamper Commons on the Stephens College Campus between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
