Chilly temperatures this morning did not stop vendors at Columbiaâ??s Farmers Market from setting up their stands outdoors.
It was the first time this spring that people got the chance to buy fresh produce in the parking lot near the ARC on Ash Street.
This past winter, the market was indoors at the Parkade Center.
The market offers fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs and baked goods.
Organizers said the outdoor market is more fun for sellers and buyers.
Market Manager Corrina Smith said, â??I think thereâ??s a lot more excitement when we come outside. The open air feeling invites a lot more people to come out here. Just because we are outside, that means its springtime and we are seeing a lot more produce than you would see inside.â??
The Columbia Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon at the ARC parking lot between now and October 25.
The market has more than 90 vendors.
