Storm victims across Mid-Missouri continue to clean-up after severe weather left behind plenty of damage.
One Columbia couple is struggling to find a place to live after high winds destroyed part of their mobile home.
Lisa Fisher and her fiancé Tom Johnson lost part their trailer and most of their belongings in Wednesday morningâ??s storm. High winds blew a hole in their bedroom wall and ceiling and shattered their windows.
Lisa said, â??The first thing I did when we opened the door, I went back to my room and I relived it. I donâ??t know how many times. Itâ??s not my room anymore, you know.â??
Tom and Lisa are getting immediate help from the American Red Cross and other volunteers. They are worried about their long term problems, especially where they are going to live.
Fisher said, â??I donâ??t know what weâ??re going to do. I mean I am lost.â??
The American Red Cross is paying for 2 nights at a hotel and offering some assistance with the first monthâ??s rent for an apartment. Lisa and Tom said they canâ??t afford an apartment.
Fisher said, â??I just wish somebody would fix it and make it better. Iâ??d come back and it would be all done.â??
Lisa and Tom arenâ??t sure when or if any repairs will be made.
The best way to help people like Lisa Fisher is to contact the American Red Cross to make a donation.
