Storm damages Prairie Home school
High winds destroyed part of a school in Prairie Home.
The winds tore off the metal roof on the old part of the elementary school side of the building.
Debris landed in the schoolâ??s empty parking lot.
No one was hurt.
School has been out for the past 2 weeks.
Teachers finished their work last week.
Prairie Home Principal Patrick Tray said, â??Somebody earlier today said to me, the first thing I heard was that a tree blew into the school. I said, no, no, no. The school blew into a tree. One of the trees that we had to cut down was one that the roof was deposited in.â??
Insurance adjusters are estimating the damage.
Volunteers helped with clean-up.
Rain caused some water damage inside the building.
