      Rugby volunteers help food bank

      The rugby players said helping the hungry is one of the best ways to support their community.

      Members of the newest rugby team to hit Mid-Missouri volunteered their time for a good cause.

      The Columbia Outlaws packaged frozen pizzas at the Food Bank for Northeast and Central Missouri.

      The menâ??s and womenâ??s teams spent 3 hours at the food bankâ??s warehouse.

      The rugby players said helping the hungry is one of the best ways to support their community.

      Team Captain Dan Mathew said, â??Itâ??s a great feeling. Playing the sport that we play, itâ??s fun. Itâ??s even more fun for us and a better feeling to come out here and give back.â??

      The Columbia Outlaws will start their new season on March 1 at Columbiaâ??s Rock Quarry Park on Grindstone Parkway.
