The Missouri Farm Bureau is celebrating â??Thank a Farmer Weekâ??.
As part of that celebration, the farm group is donating food to Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout the state.
Volunteers dropped off several boxes of food at Columbiaâ??s location near the Universityâ??s Childrenâ??s Hospital.
The Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families while their seriously ill children get treatment.
The house director said the donation could not have come at a better time.
Executive Director Terri Gray said, â??Some of our family meal providers who are regulars were unable to make it because of the weather. Weâ??ve had staff and families get together and use some of the food to prepare their own meals. Itâ??s very important to us to be able to provide that service to families as well.â??
The Missouri Farm Bureau also made donations to the Ronald McDonald Houses in Kansas City, Joplin and Springfield.
