A Columbia man is recovering from an attack and robbery in his apartment.
Alonzo Huntley, 52, woke to up a loud noise about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday in the 3300 block of Premier Lane. Huntley found his front door open and 3 men with guns.
Huntley said, â??I just saw a gun. It was a chrome gun. It was a 9 millimeter or something like that or something bigger.â??
Huntley grabbed his wife, hid in the closet and called 911 while he says the suspects grabbed Huntleyâ??s sister and son out of their beds. The gunmen then told Huntley and his wife to get out of the closet.
Huntley said, â??He reached around the closet and stuck the gun there. I walked out and asked, what is this about? He hit me in the head with the gun. You can see I have staples in my head.â??
Thatâ??s when the gunmen found Huntleyâ??s other son and gathered his family together in one room.
Huntley said, â??They threw me on the ground and put a shirt over my head. They started threatening my wife and my sister. They told them they were going to blow my brains out if they we didnâ??t give them any money.â??
When Huntley was hit in the head, his phone flew out of his hand and landed on his bed. It was still connected to a 911 operator who kept trying to get information. Huntley said the gunmen heard the 911 operator asking questions and panicked.
Huntley said, â??They left. Iâ??m lying on the ground. I didnâ??t know they were leaving because they hog tied me and strapped me down.â??
The gunmen left Huntleyâ??s home with an undisclosed amount of money.
Huntley said, â??I thank the Lord that I am still here. I will be able to spend some more time with my son on this earth. Iâ??m fine.â??
The only suspect description is 3 black males with an average build. One of them has a dreadlock hairstyle.
