Scott Peoples, 39, faces charges in Miller and Boone counties for kidnapping, sodomy and assaulting a woman from Columbia.
Peoples was taken into custody after a Miller County standoff in a home near Eugene on Wednesday afternoon.
Prosecutors charged Peoples with kidnapping, sodomy and domestic violence.
Deputies escorted Peoples from the scene without incident.
Boone County Assistant Prosecutor Andrea Hayes said, ??The probable cause statement says that he sodomized the victim and went into her home. He tied her and bound her hands and then transported her in their vehicle from Boone County to Miller County. During that process, he was striking her and choking her.??
It all started in a North Columbia neighborhood in the 5000 block of Buxton Lane. Police said the female victim and Peoples lived together. The victim escaped and was helped by Cole County deputies.
Peoples has a criminal history including guilty pleas to burglary and stealing in 1993. Several neighbors of Peoples and the female victim said they were a quiet couple and kept to themselves.
Peoples has a $600,000 cash only bond for his Boone County charges.
