New Columbia College President makes first public appearance

Columbia College President Scott Dalrymple does not plan to make any major changes.

Columbia Collegeâ??s new president made his first public appearance since accepting the job.

The Board of Trustees unanimously chose Scott Dalrymple to serve as the schoolâ??s 17th president.

Dalrymple replaces Gerald Brouder after he announced his retirement last January.

Dalrymple was a liberal arts dean at Excelsior College in Albany, New York.

The new president does not plan to make any major changes.

Dalrymple said, â??Iâ??m not going to be coming in with guns blazing. Sometimes you do that if an institution is in trouble and needs it. Columbia College is a thriving institution and does not need it.â??

Dalrymple wants to grow the size of the main campus in Columbia.

He starts his new job on May 1.
