      Mizzou student crashes into building

Repair crews said the accident caused severe damage to the buildingâ??s support column.

Authorities said a Mizzou student crashed his car into an historic building during the overnight hours.

A campus security guard saw Burke James, 20, drive into the Conley House which sits next door the Turner Avenue Parking Garage.

The security guard immediately reported the accident by radio to University Police at 2:20 a.m.

Paramedics drove James to a nearby hospital.

      His condition is unknown.

Repair crews said the accident caused severe damage to the buildingâ??s support column.

They havenâ??t estimated the cost of repairs.

University Police investigators said it appears alcohol was not involved with accident.

A witness told KRCG 13 that James had been awake for more than 24 hours when he got behind the wheel of his car and probably fell asleep just before the crash.
