Dozens of kids had a muddy time at Columbiaâ??s First Annual Junior Obstacle Mud Run.
They crawled through a hot mud pit at the future Gans Creek Recreation Area across from Father Tolton High School.
Obstacle course racers competed in 3 groups between the ages of 4 and 15.
This type of event is usually for adults.
Columbia Parks and Recreation officials said the mud run was a great way to get some exercise and get muddy at the same time.
Mud Runner Will Koester said, â??I got a ton of stuff all over my hands and my body from being muddy. The end of the course, I think, was the most fun. You could actually almost swim in it. That was pretty fun.â??
Mud Runner Caleb McCollom said, â??It was very sticky and muddy. The mud was really heavy and hot.â??
Mud Runner Aiden McCollom said, â??I got really muddy. I wanted to get back into the mud because it was super fun.â??
An outdoor shower helped clean off some of the mud.
Mud Runners paid $20 in advance and $25 at the door to participate.
