Nearly 300 people got up early Saturday morning to get some exercise for a good cause.
The American Heart Association sponsored this year??s Heart Walk at Jefferson City??s Memorial Park.
The event promotes physical activity and heart healthy fun for the entire family.
Walkers strolled around the park in honor of heart disease survivors and those who lost their lives to heart illnesses.
The fundraiser helps researchers find cures.
Heart Walk Co-Chair Barb Prasad said, ??The funds are used for research, for education and for making people aware of how to take care of themselves and how to prevent heart disease and strokes.??

Jefferson City??s American Heart Association collects about $300,000 a year for research.
