Governor Jay Nixon and first lady Georganne Nixon continued an Easter tradition Saturday.
The governor and first lady welcomed children from several schools for children with developmental disabilities.
The kids went to the Governor TMs Mansion for their annual Easter Egg Hunt.
They were joined by their parents and families--- the children searched for Easter eggs, listened to music and got the chance to have their faces painted.
"We continue a great tradition here working with the special learning center and many other groups to make sure we have an Easter egg hunt here that's great for everybody, Governor Jay Nixon said. We also want to thank sunny bunny down in Springfield, a shelter workshop that donated the eggs today. It's a major operation; they do eggs for places all across the country, quite frankly all around the world. They TMve made over 6 million eggs by hand over the last year."
The celebration began with an Easter parade led by the governor and first lady.
