Fire damages home in Columbia

A Columbia homeowner is facing at least $65,000 worth of damage to their home after a fire Sunday morning.

The fire happened around 5 a.m. at a home on Fair Haven Drive. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the basement.

According to the Columbia Fire Department, there was one person home at the time of the fire, but they had safely exited the building by the time crews arrived.

The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes of the fire department's arrival.
