Dozens remember 50th anniversary of King's speech

Senior Minister Reverend Brad Stagg read Kingâ??s â??I Have a Dreamâ?? speech on the front steps of his church in Downtown Columbia.

About two dozen people gathered at Columbiaâ??s First Christian Church to remember Martin Luther King Juniorâ??s famous speech.

Senior Minister Reverend Brad Stagg read Kingâ??s â??I Have a Dreamâ?? speech on the front steps of his church in Downtown Columbia.

The event coincided with similar readings across the country on this 50th anniversary of Kingâ??s speech in Washington, D.C.

Stagg said the words of King in 1963 are still relevant today.

After the reading of the speech, Reverend Angela Williams offered a prayer followed by the ringing of church bells.
