Cancer survivors celebrate life in Capital City

Dozens of cancer survivors were honored Sunday in the Capital City. The American Cancer Society hosted their annual ~Spring Fling TM event.Even though it didn't feel like Spring outside, organizers say the significance is meaningful."Not too many years ago, cancer was a death sentence, said Survivors Committee member Rex Hall. Anymore, that's not so. Now there are a lot of survivors so this is as with spring, the awakening and welcoming of all the survivors to another year of life."Those who came were encouraged to bring a toy or book for a cancer patient at the Children's Hospital in Columbia.
