High school and college students got the chance to learn from some of the best in business at Columbiaâ??s Holiday Inn Executive Center.
The 4th annual Boom Conference brings together students from across the state and some of Missouriâ??s top business experts.
The event was sponsored by Regional Economic Development Incorporated, or REDI, and various local businesses.
Organizers hope their one-day summit encourages students to start their own businesses after graduation.
Task force member Corbin Umstattd said, â??Entrepreneurship is the overriding factor here. Itâ??s really for anybody who wants to be inspired and wants to talk about business and who has an idea and is not sure what that next step is.â??
Secretary of State Jason Kander was one of more than a dozen speakers at the event.
