Ashland mayor plans to appoint 3 aldermen

Three Ashland aldermen resigned earlier this month.

Ashland Mayor Gene Rhorer plans to appoint 3 new Board of Aldermen this coming Tuesday.

Three aldermen resigned earlier this month.

Those resignations came 8 days after the Board voted to drop impeachment proceedings against Ward 2 Alderman Jeff Anderson.

Rhorer will run unopposed on the April ballot.

His former challenger Paul James and Ward 1 candidate George Campbell were forced out their races because they did not pay their property taxes on time.

Campbell has now paid his taxes and plans to run as a write-in candidate.

James has no plans to run for mayor.
