The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Offices on Wildwood in Jefferson City was evacuated Friday morning because of concerns of the roof's integrity under the weight of nearly 20 inches of snow.
KRCG checked on the building Wednesday morning. At that time, officials told us an inspector took a look and said the roof should be fine; but they were keeping an eye on the situation.
Employees were evaucated around 8:30 a.m. Friday. Reports said a crew did a sweep through the building around 9:15 to make sure no employees were left, and then locked the doors. Crews are shoveling snow off the roof. Kermit Miller is on the scene and will have the latest on KRCG News.
