      Almeta Crayton??s Everybody Eats needs donations

      Organizers of the late Almeta Crayton??s Everybody Eats free holiday meal have expanded the hours of this year??s event.

      The free Thanksgiving Day meal will take place at Stamper Commons on the Stephens College Campus between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. instead of 2:00 p.m.

      Organizers of the late Almeta Crayton??s Everybody Eats free holiday meal released the details of this year??s event.

      The free Thanksgiving Day meal will take place at Stamper Commons on the Stephens College Campus between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

      There are 2 ways to donate.

      You can mail a check to Columbia??s Voluntary Action Center at 403 A Vandiver Drive, Columbia, MO 65202.

      It??s important that you write ??Almeta??s Crayton??s Everybody Eats?? on the memo line of the check.

      You can also make food donations by calling Almeta??s son Tyrone Crayton at 573-825-5263.

      If you would like to help, you can call their volunteer hotline at 573-228-6340.

      Crayton died last month after suffering from heart and kidney problems.

      Crayton served as a Columbia City Councilwoman from 1999-2008.

      She was 53 years old.

      Her death put her Everybody Eats Thanksgiving feast on hold while family members decided whether to continue the program.
