This yearâ??s Roots N Blues and Barbeque Festival cost Columbia taxpayers more than $54,000.
Columbia city leaders said they used the money to pay for police officers, firefighters and other expenses.
Council members released a report that showed the entire bill for the festival was more than $83,000.
Festival organizers made up the difference of about $30,000 from their ticket sales.
Thumper Entertainment officials paid for trash and recycling services, the use of Stephens Lake Park and they gave more than $20,000 worth of tickets to low-income families and individuals.
It was the first time that organizers moved the event from Downtown Columbia to the park.
This yearâ??s total attendance was more than 23,000 people during the weekend of September 20 through 22.
