Update: June 30 at 7:35 p.m.: Fire officials are releasing more information about the fire at Camp Bagnell on Old Bagnell Road between Lake Ozark and Eldon.Authorities said two structures were a total loss in the fire that caused no injuries from people at the restaurant and living quarters.Four firefighters did sustain injuries while fighting the blaze. Two were heat related while one firefighter suffered injuries in a vehicle accident while trying to get to the fire. All three have been released by local hospitals.Authorites are still not sure how the fire started or how much the damage will cost.At least a dozen fire departments were on scene to help fight the fire. Callaway and Cole Counties both sent firefighters early Thursday evening to help put out hot spots and clean up the mess left by the fire.The Lake Ozark Fire Chief said as of 7 p.m., authorities were still attempting to extinguish all the flames.Original Story:A fire on Old Bagnell Road between Lake Ozark and Eldon destroyed the Camp Bagnell Restaurant on Thursday.Eight fire agencies responded to the fire that burned the restaurant and living quarters. Witnesses said the fire started in a lower apartment and spread to the rest of the building.Firefighters worked to save the restaurant, but were unable. Witnesses said the restaurant was a total loss as a result of the blaze.Overheated firefighters used a shaded area to recover during the fight to save the buildings.The current building has been there since the 1930s when a fire burned another building to the ground.This is a developing situation and KRCG has a team at the site.
