A domestic dispute in Jefferson City turned violent early Monday morning.
The Jefferson City Police Department responded to a disturbance around 2:15 a.m. in the 100 block of W. Atchison Street. Upon arrival, they found a female in the middle of the street bleeding from three stab wounds.
The suspect, 50-year-old Willie Harrison, was found in a parking lot behind 815 Washington Street. He suffered a stab wound to his head.
After obtaining witness statements, police determined that Harrison stabbed the victim with a knife. Out of self-defense, the victim stabbed Harrison in the head with a screwdriver.
Both Harrison and victim were transported to separate area hospitals where they received treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
Harrison was then transported to Cole County Jail and charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
He is being held on $50,000 bond.
