Woman seriously injured after train, vehicle collide

A Randolph County woman was seriously injured after being involved in a train collision Thursday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 48-year-old Teresa Beal of Higbee failed to yield for a train on South Randolph Street just after 8:30 p.m.

Her car was drug off the road and hit a sign post, where it then spun around and was hit again by the train throwing her from the car.

Beal was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

She was not wearing her seat belt.

Authorities say a stop sign and railroad crossing sign were evident at the crossing.
