      Woman raped in downtown Columbia

      Columbia police say they are looking for a suspect in a rape that happened early Saturday morning.

      Police said Sunday they are looking for a suspect after a rape downtown early Saturday morning.

      Police say the victim was walking to her car at the Tenth & Cherry Garage a little before 2 a.m. when a man forced her into her car and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to get away after a few minutes and the suspect ran away. She described the suspect as a white male standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He had short dark blond or brown hair and thick eyebrows and was wearing jeans and a long sleeve button-up shirt.
