Fri, 24 Jan 2014 13:17:34 GMT — Finally, a warm up is heading our way! Friday starts on the frigid side with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills below zero. With high pressure planted over Arkansas, winds are going to pick up by mid-morning and remain strong through much of the day. Look for speeds sustained between 15-20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph! Those gusty winds will actually help warm us up with highs reaching the upper 30s and maybe even the lower 40s for the afternoon! Clouds will increase during the second part of the day, ahead of a weak cold front that may bring a few flurries for Saturday.A Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service through 8 PM Friday thanks to the strong winds and dry air/grass. You'll want to avoid any outdoor burning until the winds die down later in the weekend. Follow the KRCG 13 StormVision Weather Team for the latest updates on winter weather in Mid-Missouri.
