The victim of Tuesday's Osage County five-car crash has been identified.

David Harper was one of six people involved in a crash on U.S. Route 63 at Route JJ. The incident happened at approximately 1:30 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway crash report.

Five cars were traveling southbound when three of the vehicles were stopped behind a 2001 Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep was making a left turn when one car struck another, creating a domino effect as two others crashed into the one before it.

A 2008 Chevrolet Suburban and a 1999 Buick Lasabre traveled off the right side of the roadway as a result of the crashes. Harper, of Dixon, was not wearing his seatbelt and was the driver of a Buick. He was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m.

Two other people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. Two of the cars were totaled, one experienced extensive damage.

This is Troop F's first fatality of April and the 10th for 2018.
