      Victim found dead in burned building

      The Macon Police and Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of North Rollins Street Wednesday morning.

      Update:

      Firefighters found a Macon man's body while trying to put out an apartment fire Wednesday morning. At about 6:50 a.m. the Macon Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire in the 100 block of North Rollins Street. When fire fighters went in the back of the building, they found Lawrence Flax, 41, in an apartment of the downtown building.The Missouri State Fire Marshall's office was contacted to assist with the investigation. At this time, the investigation of the fire continues.

      One person was found dead after a fire in Macon.

      The Macon Police and Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of North Rollins Street Wednesday morning.

      An apartment in front of the burning building was evacuated while the Macon Fire Department entered the back of the structure.

      One victim was found deceased inside the building.

      The Missouri State Fire Marshall's office has began an investigation.
