Update: Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7:40 a.m.:
The names of the suspect and the man riding with him have been released by the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
The man driving the car, 35-year-old Travis D. Rowe, was wanted for felony warrants with cash bonds of over $265 thousand. He was arrested after attempting to flee through the woods. He was found by K9 units with over $16 thousand in cash.
A search warrant was then issued for Rowe's residence on Clark Lane. When deputies entered the home they found pounds of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms. There was also evidence of distribution of these substances.
Multiple firearms were found inside the residence as well. Because Rowe is a convicted felon he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Rowe was arrested for multiple crimes including resisting arrest, two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
His bond is set at $269,645, $265,000 of which is cash only.
The man riding along in the car at the time of the attempted getaway was Cory A. Walton. He was also taken into custody during the investigation. He is charged with one count of hindering prosecution, his bond is set at $4500.
Update: Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 4:33 p.m.:
A short police chase in Boone County ended with a manhunt in a busy commercial area of Columbia.
A Boone County Sheriff TMs Deputy found out the owner of a red Toyota truck had a warrant for his arrest with the help of her license plate reader camera mounted on the outside of her patrol car.
The suspect was identified somewhere near the Interstate 70 and Highway 63 connector.
The wanted man ditched his truck behind the loading area of the Home Depot Store on Clark Lane.
The suspect ran into a nearby wooded area.
Search dogs eventually found the suspect hiding under the Highway 63 Hinkson Creek Bridge.
Eyewitness Sean Spicka told KRCG News that the suspect surrendered without incident.
Spicka said, I just drove around to watch them. They did a good job. They obviously brought the canine units in. That TMs what eventually got him. They had every single major road cordoned off. Good job to the police. I think they got him for whatever he was wanted for.
Boone County Sheriff TMs Investigators will release the name of the suspect and what charges he faces as soon as possible.
