Update: Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 1:45 p.m.
Callaway County deputies continue to answer leads about possible sightings of a wanted man.
The sheriff's department followed up on four or five leads Tuesday night as to where Shawn McGee, 31, may be hiding.
None of those leads proved successful.
Authorities said he could still be in Callaway County, or he may be hiding out in a southern mid-Missouri county.
McGee is wanted on charges of burglary, stolen vehicle among other charges related to shots fired.
Authorities said McGee should be considered armed and dangerous.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Department was patrolling on Highway AA South of Holts Summit around 3 a.m. Saturday. A deputy attempted to stop a stolen vehicle but the driver pulled over and fled on foot.
Police said articles related to methamphetamines were found in the vehicle.
Around 10:00 a.m Saturday, officers were called to a farm property on County Road 4006.
The landowner was in a building on the property when he realized an intruder was present.
That intruder fired one shot at the landowner as he was running from the building.
At 4:40 p.m. the suspect was seen again near the Tebbetts Post Office.
A resident tried to hold the suspect but he fled once again and fired a shot as he was running away.
An extensive search followed the encounter. Police dogs and a helicopter were called in to help.
The suspect is Shaun McGee, a 31 year old resident with ties to Holts Summit and Tebbetts.
McGee is considered to be dangerous and residents should contact law enforcement if he is seen.
