A man and woman from Columbia were arrested for multiple charges after police pulled them over late Monday night.
According to the Boone County Sheriff, deputies stopped a car on Clark Lane near the intersection of the Highway 63 connector just before midnight.
Deputies recognized the driver and knew he had a criminal history, he was currently on parole and his driver's license was revoked. Police searched the car and found handguns, meth, marijuana, drug packaging material, drug paraphernalia, electronic scales and about $1,000 in cash.
Lester M. Johnson, 35, was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving while suspended.
Deputies also arrested the passenger, 27-year-old Stephanie M. Botts, for possession of drug paraphernalia.
