Two men are facing criminal charges after the Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested them for burglarizing a house in Columbia and assaulting several people inside.
Deputies arrested Kelsey C. Skouby, 25, of Auxvasse, and Jessie G. Smith, 22, of Columbia, after police say they allegedly walked into a home in the 1800 block of Prathersville Road and assaulted a man inside.
the Boone County Sheriff's Department believes the victim and his attackers were known to each other.
According to a media release from the sheriff's office, deputies were called out to investigate an assault on Prathersville Road January 18. They learned that the two men had allegedly come to the house looking for another man that they knew.
After someone allegedly told Skouby and Smith that the man they were looking for was inside, they walked in and assaulted the victim. According to the sheriff, the two men assaulted one more man and threatened to assault a woman before fleeing the house.
The first victim was taken to a local hospital and was treated for minor injuries. The other two victims did not require medical attention.
