Columbia police arrested two men they believe were tied to a weekend incident where a gun was fired.
Officers responded to a shots fired incident at Olympic Boulevard and Olympic Court just after 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Before officers arrived at the scene, dispatchers told them a gun was involved, a shot was heard, and a green truck was seen leaving the area.
Police saw a green truck heading westbound on Clark Lane going toward Highway 63.
A witness at the scene told police the suspect fired the gun while aiming in the air and no one was hit or injured.
Members of the Investigative Division conducted interviews and served a search warrant at 3920 Olympic Court. Officers recovered two handguns from the house. Officers discovered one of them was stolen.
Officers arrested Paul J. Everman, 35, for receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a weapon, and Mark A. Reyes, 28, for unlawful use of a weapon and illegally possessing a concealed firearm. Police told KRCG Reyes is suspected of firing the weapon.
Both men are out of jail and neither face charges at this time.
