Trump to address tax bill effects in St. Louis visit
ST. LOUIS —
President Trump's visit to St. Louis Wednesday afternoon will feature a roundtable discussion with Missouri business leaders and workers about the effects of the federal tax reforms approved by Congress in December.
The roundtable will take place at Boeing Aircraft Co. headquarters and will include U.S. Treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin.
A senior White House official said representatives from 10 businesses will participate in the discussion, including Jefferson City-based Central Bank and Hawthorne Bank. Others mentioned were Boeing, Kansas City Power & Light and College of the Ozarks.
The official said Dan Mehan, president of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, would participate.
Former Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder will attend, according to the White House senior official. The official also said the roundtable would not include any Missouri statewide elected officials, as had previously been reported.
The official confirmed the president would attend a political event later in the afternoon.
