Triple shooting in Columbia leaves one dead

Columbia police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and two others injured outside a Break Time Convenience Store. (KRCG 13)

Columbia Police investigated an early morning shooting that killed one person and injured two others.

CPD said officers were dispatched to the Break Time Convenience Store on 2709 East Broadway at 3 a.m. Sunday after a woman with a gunshot wound entered the business.

Upon arrival, officers also found another two men suffering from gunshot wounds near a car that had been struck by gunfire.

All three victims were taken by EMS to a local hospital. One of the male victims was pronounced dead a short time later.

The conditions of the other two victims was unknown at the time of the release.

Officers said the preliminary investigation revealed the three victims were driving in a car on Trimble Road and Brickton Road when a suspected vehicle approached the car and fired rounds.

Several shell casings were found. No other property damage was reported.
